skills and experience.

The RPEL assessment process follows the same assessment process as practitioners undertaking a full learning programme for the VTCT level 7 diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable treatments.

The only difference is that no didactive teaching will be provided. The assessment process is intended for experienced practitioners who have already undertaken a programme of learning and or training through other means.

MAP-IQ will guide and support learners through each stage of the RPEL assessment process.

Entry Requirement

Part of a Regulatory Body

You must be a regulated medical or healthcare professional with aesthetic practice accepted as ‘within scope’ of your professional role informed by your regulatory body. I.e., GMC, GDC, NMC, GPhC with no conditions attached to practice, Online Registration check with relevant PSRB by MAP-IQ.

Minimum Experience
Have a minimum of 2-years’ experience performing botulinum toxin and dermal fillers treatments from within a clinical environment. OR Hold registration on Part A of the JCCP Practitioner register, Registrants on other PSA industry registers will also be considered. Applicants must provide copies of CPD accredited training certificates for Botulinum toxin and dermal fillers treatments. Copy of Registration Certificate
Treatment Evidence

Able to provide evidence of 10 botulinum toxin and 10 dermal filler treatments within the past 12 months.

Log of 20 botulinum toxin and 20 dermal filler treatments, validated by a PSRB registrant.

Indemnity Insurance

Hold full indemnity Insurance cover for aesthetic procedures (must include botulinum toxin and dermal fillers), Copy of insurance schedule for previous 2 years of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.

English Language

UK and International practitioners must hold English language level of IELTS 7.0 in all components or equivalent, if English is not a first language. Copy of Assessment Certificate (where appropriate).

Non- Prescribing Practitioners
Practitioners are not required to be independent prescribers, but they must be supervised for their practice-based OSCE by a prescribing supervisor who holds a Level 7 regulated post-graduate qualification in aesthetic or non-surgical cosmetic practice.

Online Digital Resources

MAP-IQ uses a software called LearnDash to host the assessment process and resources. It is the most popular learning management system (LMS) plugin for WordPress, and is used around the world by major universities, professional training organisations and multinational companies.

We aim to provide learners with an easy-to-understand step-by-step process that allows individuals to evidence their knowledge and skills to achieve the qualification.

MAP-IQ provides learners with a range of reading materials and resources throughout the assessment process. This includes:

  • An Induction session to help you navigate the assessment platform with ease.
  • A study skills session to refresh your academic skills.
  • An online community lounge for peer networking and collaboration
  • A range of evidence-based reading materials and resources to support each stage of the assessment
  • The opportunity to test your knowledge with past exam papers.
  • Observational videos of example OSCEs
  • FAQs

Duration

Although the RPEL assessment process is flexible in terms of completing the different stages of the assessment process, the full process must be completed within 12 months from the learner’s registration date.

To enable you to stay on track and complete the assessment process within the allocated timeframe, MAP-IQ provides a 8-week deadline guide for each stage of the assessment process, this will help you to manage your time effectively.

Learners who do not complete the 4-stage assessment process within the 12-month timescale will have to re-register with MAP-IQ. Additional cost implications will apply (See service charges).

If you prefer to pay in instalments, we have a payment plan which you to pay as you go through each stage of the assessment process allowing you to manage your budget over the year.

Qualification Registration – £865*

Registration costs include the fees for registration with VTCT, the OFQUAL qualification awarding body.

Stage 1 Assessment – £445* (£1,310)

Second Payment Stage 2 Assessment – £445

*Both Qualification Registration and Stage 1 Assessment fee must be paid before the learn has access to the RPL platform. Instalment payments must be received before the assessment can be taken.
