Failing to plan for assessment, is planning to fail.  

Assessors are responsible for setting the learner assessment criteria

Assessors must always include a rationale for their assessment decision.

Assessors must ensure the plagiarism score is acceptable and authenticity validated prior to grading assessments.

In accordance with awarding body requirements, assessors who are not appropriately qualified and or do not hold an assessor qualification, must have their assessment decisions countersigned by a qualified assessor.

When assessing learner written work, assessors must ensure that the learner work is authentic, sufficient, and current?

Standardisation of assessment is a way of ensuring reliability and fairness of the centre assessment process. Regardless of which member of staff conducts the learner assessment tolerance levels should be within range.

Standardisation in assessment should be included in the centres quality assurance policy.

New Assessors do not need to attend standardisation meeting until they are more experienced.

Internal Quality Assurance is the last stage of the quality assurance cycle in assessment process

Internal Quality Assurance sampling should take place across assessor performance and learner evidence?

The training centre is required to keep records of all learner assessment records, as these will be required for moderation prior to learner certification.

Learner assessment records are not required by the external quality assurer, as assessment is the conducted and verified by the internal quality assurer.

When the learner successfully completes all assessments and achieves a qualification the centre can dispose of the learner records.
