AIM:
The aim of this unit is to empower practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognise, respond to, and prevent abuse and neglect in a range of settings. This unit seeks to enhance understanding of safeguarding principles, legal frameworks, and best practices whilst promoting a culture of safety and protection for vulnerable individuals. Additionally, it aims to equip participants with the tools to promote well-being and ensure that the rights of individuals are upheld in their care and support environments.Â
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Recognise and understand the different forms of abuse and neglect, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.Â
- Understand the relevant laws and policies related to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.Â
- Develop and apply effective safeguarding policies and procedures in their work and clinical settings.Â
- Demonstrate appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns, including reporting and referral processes.Â

Method of learning: The course is delivered entirely online, making it accessible to participants worldwide. Learning materials include a narrated presentation, a training manual, an e-library featuring evidence-based publications, administration videos and a multiple-choice quiz to test your acquisition of skills at the end of the unit.
