U04 Mental Health and Interconnection with Cosmetic Practice

AIM:

The aim of this CPD course is to equip practitioners with the knowledge and understanding of common mental health conditions and the skills required to support the mental well-being of individuals who seek cosmetic procedures. Additionally, we will examine the legal, professional, and ethical standards of practice to inform evidence-based treatment options for the management of individuals that present with mental health concerns in clinical practice.  

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

1. Appraise key mental health concerns that impact on mental health wellbeing. 
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the psychological implications of cosmetic procedures including how these treatments can affect individual mental well-being and self-image. 
3. Critically evaluate and apply relevant legal, professional, and ethical standards when working with clients who exhibit mental health concerns in the context of cosmetic treatment. 
4. Implement evidence-based  practice strategies to support the mental well-being of individuals seeking non-surgical cosmetic procedures

Method of learning: The course is delivered entirely online, making it accessible to participants worldwide. Learning materials include a narrated presentation, a training manual, an e-library featuring evidence-based publications, and a multiple-choice quiz to test your acquited knoledge and understanding.

Facilitation: The education and training content for this course is facilitated by qualified educators who are regulated healthcare professionals and who hold master level regulated qualifications in non-surgical cosmetic practice.
