The VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (Covid 19) for Clinical Aesthetics has been designed to meet proposed regulation and best practice industry standards to compliment the safe practice for the delivery of clinical aesthetics and other patient-facing procedures and treatments

AIM OF THE QUALIFICATION

This level 2 regulated award aims to develop the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of Infection Prevention and in particular the spread of COVID-19. Candidates will develop knowledge on the importance of social responsibility, the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19, and the methods used to control infections transmissions such as correct hand hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They will also understand the safe working practices required in the clinic to protect themselves and their patients

LEARNING OUTCOMES

MAP-IQ provides a e-learning platform to deliver the course material. After studying the course materials and resources, learners will

  • Understand the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19.
  • Understand social responsibility for the clinical aesthetics sector in relation to COVID-19.
  • Understand the controls necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Understand the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand hygiene and personal hygiene in the prevention of COVID-19.
  • Understand potential hazards and risks and the workplace procedures necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the clinical aesthetic environment.
  • Understand decontamination and waste management processes relevant to clinical aesthetic treatments.

Guided Learning hours: 4 hrs

Grading Pass Mark: 70%

Entry requirements: There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that learners must have prior to undertaking this qualification.

Fees: Cost for registration to complete this unit £120.00   

Candidates must achieve this mandatory unit before progressing to the final practice-based assessment for the Level 7 Clinical Aesthetic Injectables Qualification.

THE VTCT LEVEL 2 AWARD ASSESSMENT PROCESS

An external theory examination will be set and marked by VTCT (ITEC). The theory exam will consist of multiple-choice questions. Questions will cover the learning outcomes within the award. The pass mark for the theory exam is 70%.

The exam will be conducted online in accordance with VTCT standards for online examinations.
