AIM:

The aim of this CPD course is to support and guide learners to enhance knowledge and understanding of relevant mandatory and voluntary legislation; and to explore regulatory requirements and professional and ethical standards relevant to non-surgical cosmetic. 

Learning Outcomes 

  1. Appraise the impact of regulation and the role of the regulators within the context of aesthetic and non-surgical cosmetic injectable practice.
  2. Appraise the key mandatory and voluntary legislation that governs non-surgical cosmetic practices.
  3. Analyse the professional and ethical standards expected of learners in the non-surgical cosmetic field and how these standards guide clinical decision-making.
  4. Explore reflective practice by evaluating their own experiences and beliefs in relation to the ethical standards and regulatory requirements discussed in the course.

The aim of this CPD course is to support and guide learners to enhance knowledge and understanding of relevant mandatory and voluntary legislation; and to explore regulatory requirements and professional and ethical standards relevant to non-surgical cosmetic.

  • Responsibilities of UK-approved public statutory regulatory bodies (PRSBs) 
  • Key Voluntary Sector Standards CPSA/JCCP)
  • JCCP Memorandum of Understanding with regulatory bodies 
  • Voluntary registers (for practitioners) 
  • Professional Standards Authority (PSA) accreditation 
  • Standards for non-regulated practitioners   
  • Biomedical principles and ethics in non-surgical cosmetic practice 
  • The legislative movement (over the past decade) in the non-surgical cosmetic sector
  • Self-Directed Learning – EBP and research  
  • Reflective Practice

Method of learning: The course is delivered entirely online, making it accessible to participants worldwide. Learning materials include a narrated presentation, a training manual, an e-library featuring evidence-based publications, and a multiple-choice quiz to test your acquisition of skills at the end of the unit.

Facilitation: The education and training content for this course is facilitated by qualified educators who are regulated healthcare professionals and who hold master level regulated qualifications in non-surgical cosmetic practice.

As this course is focused on continuing professional development and learning, there are no formative or summative assessments. However, learners will complete an end-of-course multiple-choice quiz to evaluate their acquisition of knowledge and understanding, facilitating reflective practice in this critical area of non-surgical cosmetic practice.

Entry Requirements: There are no formal prerequisites for this Continued Professional Development (CPD) course; however, learners should note that CPD courses do not equate to regulated qualifications. As the name implies, CPD courses are intended for ongoing professional development to update knowledge and skills, ensuring they remain current and informed by the latest evidence-based practices.

Completion timescales: Completion is flexible to accommodate the busy demands of working professionals. Learners will have access to the platform and resources for 12 weeks for each CPD course.
