The RPL accelerated assessment route to qualification is solely for regulated practitioners who have already undertaken education and training in aesthetic injectable practice through other formal and informal means and acquired patient-facing hands-on experience practicing within the clinical aesthetic injectable field.Â
Regulated practitioners who meet MAP-IQ’s entry requirements will be exempt from undertaking the full Level 7 learning programme and formative assessments and can proceed directly to summative assessment process to evidence competence. The summative assessment process involves a written exam and clinical skill assessment. With busy professional in mind, the MAP-IQ RPL assessment process is conducted completely online , therefore, you will not have to travel or leave your familiar surroundings. this makes out route to qualification inclusive and accessible to practitioners both nationally and internationally.Â

On successful completion of the written exam and practical assessment practitioners will be awarded with a VTCT (ITEC) Level 7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetics and be entitled to use the following post nominals – PgDip(Aes).

The aim of the RPL accelerated assessment process (MA7D2) is to support experienced non-surgical cosmetic injectable practitioners to formally evidence competency to practice through the achievement of a regulated and accredited L7 Diploma in Non-Surgical Cosmetic Injectable Treatments.
The MA7D2 Level 7 Diploma in Non-Surgical Cosmetic Injectable Treatments involves evidencing competence for the learning outcomes across the following units.Â
UMA 3: Anatomy and physiology for aesthetic procedures.
UMA 4: Principles and practice of botulinum toxin use in aesthetic practice.
UMA 5: Principles and practice of dermal fillers in aesthetic practice.
UMA 8: Principles of aesthetic practice.Â
UMA 9: The principles and practice of patient assessment.

QUALIFICATION TITLE: Level 7 Diploma in Non-Surgical Cosmetic Injectable TreatmentsÂ
VOCATIONAL/ACADEMIC LEVEL:Â Level 7 (Equivalent to Post Graduate level)
ROUTE: Accelerated assessment only route – through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL practitioners will achieve the same level qualification as those who have undertaken the full level 7 learning programme.
GRADING:Â Â WRITTEN EXAM – The cut off mark for a pass grade is 70%. PRACTICAL SKILLS ASSESSMENT – PASS/FAIL
QUALIFICATION CREDITS : 55 level 7 RQF credits. The level 7 credits can be used towards a full MSc in Professional Practice at the University of West of England. (other universities will also accept separate module credits towards an MSc in Professional Practice- learners are advised to check with their preferred university).Â

Assessment 1: Written Examination
Learners are required to undertake an online written exam to meet the unit learning outcomes for the qualification. For your written exam you will need access to a private room, a laptop and internet access.Â
Assessment 2:Â Clinical Skills Assessment
Learners are required to perform clinical skills to demonstrate competence in the application of botulinum toxin and a soft tissue filler for cosmetic purposes. For your clinical skill assessments, you will need access to a clinical environment.
MAP-IQ will provide you with access to a carefully curated online assessment platform where you will receive full support and guidance from our expert team from start to finish. You will receive support and guidance on how to prepare for the exam, the exam and assessment structure, exam subject areas, formatting of exam questions and understanding the assessment criteria. You will also have access to practice exam papers to test your knowledge in a range of subject areas, and an e-library with useful resources and publications to help with revision and exam preparation. We are here to support you to succeed!
MAP-IQ also provides practitioners with access to a online private forum where you can network with other practitioners going through the RPL assessment process or present any questions or queries to our educators and assessors.Â
- A regulated medical, dental, health or allied healthcare professional with no conditions attached to practice and non-surgical cosmetic practice not restricted by the practitioner’s regulator.
- Previous certified training in botulinum toxin and soft tissue fillers
- Hands-on experience in administering botulinum toxin and soft tissue fillers with verification of having administered a minimum 40 botulinum toxin and 40 soft tissue fillers over the preceding 3 years.
- Hold full indemnity insurance cover for aesthetic procedures (must include botulinum toxin and dermal fillers),
- UK and International medical and healthcare practitioners must hold an English language level of IELTS 6.0 in all components or equivalent if English is not a first language your first language.
- International medical and healthcare practitioners must hold current registration (with no conditions to practice) with a respective regulatory body.
N.B. Practitioners are not required to be independent prescribers, but they must be supervised for their clinical skills assessment (OSCE) by a prescribing supervisor.
