Level 2 Award – Infection Prevention (Covid-19) for Clinical Aesthetics

Hello and Welcome to the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention

This OFQUAL regulated Level 2 award in Prevention Infection has recently been introduced by VTCT as a result of the recent Covid-19 pandemic. All learners studying for patient-facing qualifications regardless of the subject area and or professional background are required to achieve a pass prior to conducting practice-based assessment involving patients.

The aim of this unit is to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of how to prevent the spread of infection, specifically COVID-19 and how to work safely. Study time for this award is approximately 3-5 hours.

Learners will develop knowledge on the importance of social responsibility, the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19, and the methods used to control transmission such as correct hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

You will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in the clinic to protect themselves and their patients.

Level 2 Award is assessed by completing a 30 minutes exam online. Please see exam dates below to book.
