STAGE 1 – WRITTEN EXAM 

Welcome to stage 1 of the RPL assessment process.

As part of the summative examination and assessment process, you are required to undertake an online written examination. The written examination will assess knowledge and understanding across the indicative content and learning outcomes for the qualification units. The written exam is externally set and externally marked by VTCT.

The written examination involves answering approximately 100 multiple-choice questions. Exam questions are presented in the following formats.

• Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
• Cloze Response Questions (CRQ)s
• Multiple Response Questions (MRQs)
• Assertion and Reason Questions (ARQs)
• Extended Matching Questions (EMQs)
• Ordering or Ranking Questions (ORQs)

Don’t worry if you have not come across these question formats before; you will find guidance and examples of each question format together with useful resources to help you prepare for the exam in the following sections.
