Jane is Advanced Level Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber and the Clinical Director of Laferla Medical Cosmetics in Cardiff, where she operates a successful practice with an extensive patient-base. Jane holds an MSc in Cosmetic Medicine (Distinction) and a level 7 PGA in Applied Clinical Anatomy for Cosmetic Interventions, she also holds a level 7 PGCE in Medical Education (Distinction) from the University of South Wales (USW).
Jane is committed to patient safety and improving standards for education and training within the clinical aesthetic arena, as such is heavily involved in education and quality assurance within the aesthetic sector.
Jane is an experienced academic educator and clinical trainer, She holds ‘Recognised Tutor Status’ with UK Universities where she tutors and assesses other healthcare professionals on the MSc in Cosmetic Medicine and V300 independent prescribing programme. Jane regularly contributes to the design and development of clinical aesthetic sector qualifications and is a technical expert, examiner, moderator and EQA for VTCT an OFQUAL awarding organisation for the L7 Diploma in Clinical Aesthetics; a role that aims to improve and maintain quality standards in non-surgical cosmetic education and training.
In 2018, Jane won the much-coveted award of ‘Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner of the Year for UK and Ireland’. An accolade that is a testament to her commitment to raising education and training standards with the aim of improving patient safety.
Jane is fellow of the JCCP Education and Training Committee and holds full accreditation with on the JCCP practitioner register. She holds membership to many industry organisations including the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME); British Association of Cosmetic Nurse (Regional Lead for Wales 2012-2017) and the Ace World Complications Group (ACE).
