About Us
WHY MAP-IQ WAS ESTABLISHED
At MAP-IQ we are passionate about improving patient safety within the non-surgical cosmetic sector and believe patients electing to have non-surgical cosmetic treatments have the right to be treated by suitability qualified and regulated practitioners.
Regulated medical and healthcare practitioners are mandated to adhere to a professional code of practice, this includes registrants being able to evidence competence in a new field of clinical practice.Â
Here at MAP-IQ we recognise that competence to practice in non-surgical cosmetic practice is not assessed or validated in any under-graduate training or through existing qualifications, nor can it be assessed or acquired through attendance at a CPD course.
MAP-IQ has spent the last couple of years collaborating with qualification regulators, awarding organisations, the JCCP and sector experts to develop a regulated but flexible routes to regulated and accredited qualification that enables practitioners to formally evidence competence to practice in the non-surgical cosmetic field.Â
“Only the best in this disparate sector commit themselves to better training and practice, whilst the unscrupulous and unsafe carry on as before¨ (Keogh, 2013)
